The quest for purpose in a chaotic world is a common pursuit that often leads us to contemplate the power of our mind and the impact it has on our lives. It is during these moments of reflection that we realise the duality of our existence, where we can be strong and empowered, and yet weak and helpless. It is this paradoxical nature of our being that has served as the inspiration for my paintings, as I explored the impact of the perspective through which we view the world.
My recent journey to Iran, coinciding with the onset of the revolution, provided me with a firsthand experience of witnessing the bravery of the youth, the infliction of pain and suffering by the invaders of Iran and the passiveness of observers. This experience ignited within me the inspiration to paint the evident reality that we possess the power of choice. we are powerful beings who have consciously chosen our roles before embarking on this earthly existence and actively co-manifest our reality with our divine counterpart. Therefore, we have the ability to change these roles if we so desire.
It has become evident that we have forgotten our true essence and the inherent worth we possess within this narrative. The uprising led by women served as a powerful reminder of the lionheartedness that lies dormant within us, symbolised by the lion on the Iranian national flag. As we dared to envision freedom and joy, we began our journey to manifest these aspirations into reality and shook the world to wake up with us.
Pirooz, an endangered Asian Cheetah, emerged as a beacon of hope for the Woman Life Freedom movement and the Iranian revolution. When he passed, his essence merged with the land, his soul already united with the divine, just as we all are. The love we held for him brought us together, and in his memory, we continue to carry forth the spirit of our revolution until we achieve victory.
